Quick summary: 拍点单词 uses only the information needed to provide photo-based word recognition and learning features. You can use the App with an anonymous, device-based profile, or you can choose to use Sign in with Apple. The App does not show personalized ads, does not sell personal information, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. Photos and text are processed only when you choose to submit them.

This Privacy Policy explains how mediocre, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use the 拍点单词 mobile application (the "App").

By using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

Information you submit

When you use AI visual recognition, translation, definitions, example sentences, or AI-assisted learning features, we process the photo, cropped image, word, text, query, language choice, or other content that you choose to submit.

Camera and photo-library access are off by default. The App requests access only when you use the related feature. We do not scan your full photo library, and we process only the photo you select or the image you confirm for recognition.

Please avoid submitting faces, identity documents, financial information, health information, precise location information, or other sensitive content that is not needed for word learning.

Your learning content

Photos you submit for recognition, and the word lists and scene information produced from them, are stored on our servers under your account so that they remain available to you and can be synced to your device.

Other learning content — such as notes, review status, study history, reminder settings, and app preferences — is currently stored on your device. If we later store or sync additional learning data under your account, we will describe it in this Policy.

Account information

The App uses an anonymous, device-based profile by default. To create it, we generate and store an account identifier together with a device identifier that the App keeps on your device. We do not ask for your name, phone number, email address, or government-issued ID to create this profile.

You may optionally use Sign in with Apple. If you do, we receive and store the stable user identifier that Apple provides and, if you choose to share it, your email address or Apple's private relay address.

We also keep basic session records — such as session creation and expiry times and the device or app version making the request — to keep you signed in, to let you sign out, and to protect your account.

Technical information

When the App connects to our services, we or our service providers may receive limited technical information such as IP address, device type, operating-system version, App version, network status, request time, crash information, and error logs. We use this information to deliver the service, maintain security, and fix technical problems.

Support communications

If you contact us, we collect the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, screenshots, and related communications, so we can respond to your request.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to:

We do not use the content you submit to train general-purpose AI models unless we separately explain that use and obtain any consent required by law.

3. Device Permissions and Similar Technologies

The App may request the following permissions only when needed:

You can change or withdraw these permissions at any time in your device settings. Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working, but it will not affect unrelated features.

The mobile App does not use cookies for advertising. If you visit a website operated by us, that website may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for basic operation, security, or preferences.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We may disclose limited information in the following situations:

Service providers. We may use cloud hosting and storage, AI visual recognition and AI-processing, security, crash-reporting, and customer-support providers to operate the App. They may process information only to provide services to us and subject to appropriate contractual or legal obligations.

Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, prevent fraud or abuse, investigate security issues, or protect rights and safety.

Business changes. If mediocre, LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy and applicable law.

We do not make your submitted photos, words, notes, or study history publicly available. We do not permit service providers to use that content for their own advertising or independent general-purpose AI training.

5. Storage, Retention, and Security

Photos, word lists, and related recognition results stored under your account are retained until you delete them in the App, delete your account, or we no longer need them to provide the Service.

Learning data stored locally remains on your device until you delete it, clear the App's data, uninstall the App, or your device removes it.

Content sent to our AI visual recognition and AI-processing providers is retained by them only for as long as reasonably necessary to return the result, maintain security, resolve errors, or comply with law. Technical logs and support records are kept only for a reasonable period for the purposes described in this Policy, after which they are deleted or de-identified.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including encrypted transmission where appropriate and access controls, to protect information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

mediocre, LLC is based in the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from those in your country, but we take reasonable steps to protect information as described in this Policy.

6. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

You can:

You can delete your account at any time from within the App. When you do, we delete the account record, the photos, word lists, and other data stored under that account, and we end your sessions. If you used Sign in with Apple, we also ask Apple to revoke the App's Sign in with Apple authorization.

Uninstalling the App without deleting your account does not delete the data stored under your account. Deleting your account also does not automatically delete support emails or limited server records that we are legally permitted or required to retain.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, including the right to obtain a copy of your information, object to or restrict certain processing, or appeal a decision about a privacy request. We may need to verify your request before responding. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable privacy rights.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without legally required parental consent. If you are under 13, please do not submit photos, text, or support messages unless the App expressly offers an approved parental-consent process.

If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without the required consent, we will delete it as required by law. A parent or guardian may contact us to request review or deletion. Users between 13 and the age of legal majority should review this Policy with a parent or guardian.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes to the App, our practices, or legal requirements. We will post the updated version in the App or on our website and revise the "Last Updated" date. If a change materially affects your privacy rights, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law.
