We answer support email in English and Chinese. We aim to reply within two business days; complex issues that need investigation may take longer, and we will tell you if that happens.
To help us reproduce a problem, please include:
- what you were doing and what you expected instead;
- the app version, shown at the bottom of the Settings screen;
- your iPhone model and iOS version;
- the approximate date and time the problem happened; and
- a screenshot or screen recording, if you have one.
Please do not send passwords or other credentials. We never ask for them.
What the App Does
拍点单词 turns a photo into vocabulary. You take or pick a photo, the app recognizes the objects and scene in it, and words are pinned onto the photo where they appear, each with a translation and pronunciation. Tapping a word opens its details and example sentences, and words you keep can be reviewed later as flashcards.
Requirements
拍点单词 runs on iPhone with iOS 26.5 or later. It is not available for iPad. Photo recognition, word details, and example sentences are produced on our servers, so those features need an internet connection. Words you have already saved remain readable offline.
Recognition
The app found no words in my photo, or missed the thing I wanted.
Recognition works best on a photo where the subject is in focus, reasonably lit, and large enough in the frame. Try moving closer, steadying the shot, or photographing one scene at a time rather than a crowded shelf. Screenshots of text, heavily filtered images, and very dark photos are the hardest cases.
Recognition failed or seems stuck.
Recognition runs on our servers and continues while you wait on the photo. If it fails, check your network and try again — a failed photo can be retried. If it keeps failing on the same photo, email us the photo and the time you tried, and we will look at the server-side record.
A word or translation is wrong.
Results are generated by AI models and are not always correct. Please do not rely on them for anything consequential without checking another source. If you see a result that is clearly wrong, send us a screenshot; reports like these are how we tune the recognition prompts.
Account and Data
Do I need to create an account?
No. On first launch the app creates an anonymous profile tied to your device, and everything works from there. No name, phone number, or email is required.
Why should I use Sign in with Apple?
An anonymous profile lives on one device. Signing in with Apple attaches your photos and words to an identity you can recover, so they come back after you reinstall the app or move to a new device. You can sign in later from the Settings screen; the data already in your anonymous profile carries over.
I signed in on a new device and my data is missing.
Photos, recognized words, and scene information are stored under your account and come back when you sign in with the same Apple ID. Other learning data — review progress, check-in history, and app preferences — is currently kept on the device only and does not transfer. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used before, and email us if the photos still do not appear.
How do I delete my account and data?
Open Settings, tap 注销账户 (Delete Account), and confirm. This permanently deletes your cloud photos, words, and sign-in sessions. It cannot be undone, and it is not reversible by contacting us afterwards. Deleting the app without deleting the account leaves the account data in place.
How do I request a copy of my data, or ask a privacy question?
Email us and say what you need. Our Privacy Policy describes what we collect and how long we keep it.
Camera and Photo Access
Camera and photo-library access are off by default; the app asks the first time you use a feature that needs them. If you declined earlier and want to turn access back on, open the iOS Settings app, find 拍点单词 in the list, and enable Camera or Photos there. The app reads only the photo you select — it does not scan your library.
Membership
What is included for free?
Without a membership you get three photo recognitions per day and one review round per day. Words you have already collected stay readable and are never locked behind the membership.
What does 拍点单词 PRO add?
PRO removes the daily limits on photo recognition and review. It is sold as a monthly subscription, which starts with a free trial, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. The exact price, trial length, and renewal terms are shown in the app before you confirm, and payment is handled by Apple.
I bought a membership but the app does not recognize it.
Membership follows the Apple ID that made the purchase, not your 拍点单词 account. Open the membership screen and tap Restore to re-check the purchase on this device, and make sure the device is signed in to the App Store with the same Apple ID. If the purchase is still not found, email us the App Store receipt from Apple and we will help you trace it.
How do I cancel the subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. On your device, open the iOS Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, select 拍点单词, and cancel. The subscription stays active until the end of the paid period. Canceling during a free trial stops it from converting, provided you cancel at least a day before it ends.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are issued by Apple, and we cannot process them for you. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple ID that made the purchase. Tell us as well if the refund is because something in the app did not work — we would like to fix it.
Reporting Bugs and Suggesting Features
Send bugs and feature requests to the same address. Bug reports that include the details listed above get fixed fastest. We read every suggestion, but we cannot promise that a given feature will be built or give a delivery date.
